You’ll have heard that in England there are now three tiers of COVID alert level, and that South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire are both in the middle category (High). In this category there will be no social mixing between different households, but it is not the same as the earlier lockdown as places like schools, workplaces, shops and bars (at least until 10:00 pm) will remain open. Gyms (and by extension exercise classes) do not have to close in the areas of High alert.
So our reading of the situation at the moment is that classes can continue with all the mitigation measures that are already in place to minimise exposure. The formal regulations implementing these new rules will be debated in Parliament tomorrow (Tuesday), so when the final ruleset is agreed we will review them again and if anything has changed we will let you know.
